Norwood Man Shot to Death Outside His Home After Drug Dispute, Police Say

THE BRONX — A 46-year-old man was shot to death outside his Norwood home after a drug dispute Wednesday, police said.

Michael Vermong was shot in the chest by Jamel Burney, 32, on Bainbridge Avenue and East 204th Street about 2:35 a.m., the NYPD said.

Vermong was taken to Montefiore Hospital where he died.

A gun was recovered and Burney was taken into custody shortly after the shooting.

The Crown Heights, Brooklyn man was later charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. 

He has several previous drug-related arrests, according to police.
