Fearless Girl, meet awkward mayor.
Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on Monday that the popular bronze statue will continue staring down the iconic Wall Street bull through February 2018 — but first, he decided to pose for a cringe-worthy photo with her.

The 6-foot-6 de Blasio bent down next to the 4-foot statue, wrapping his right arm around her while placing his left hand on his knee.
“This statue, the Fearless Girl, means so much to the people of New York City,” he said. “I’ve been profoundly struck by what this statue means in particular to women and girls in this city and this whole country.”
The statue was first put in place March 7.
Public Advocate Letitia James has called for it to be permanently installed.
The Fearless Girl did not appear impressed by the mayor.
