MIDTOWN — Police are looking for a man they said stole a dedication plaque from the famed Waldorf Astoria Clock on the day the hotel closed for renovations.

The well-dressed bandit was caught on surveillance video calmly strolling out of the hotel’s lobby with two women at about 1:10 a.m. on Feb. 28 before hailing a yellow cab.

Part of the interior of the hotel was designated a landmark the day it closed to convert about a third of the rooms into condos.
