CLAREMONT — Police have arrested a man caught on video robbing an 81-year-old woman in an elevator after pretending to help her.

Homer Griffin, 50, offered to help his victim get off of the elevator in a building near Grand Concourse and Marcy Place on Friday around 2:20 p.m. before threatening to kill her and stealing $200, according to the NYPD.

He has been charged with robbery, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Griffin has 15 prior arrests and has been convicted of attempted robbery three times, according to the NYPD and state records.
