BROOKLYN — A 15-year-old boy died Thursday, three days after he was shot in the back of the head in what may have been a case of mistaken identity, police said Friday.

Rohan Levy was shot along with an 18-year-old man outside 92 E. 55th St., near Lenox Road, about 2:35 p.m. Monday, police said.

"They're hanging out on their own street causing no issue," NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said. "A gold-colored Honda Accord pulled up, and a male got out of the passenger seat and fired at them several times with a .380 revolver."

"No one had a criminal record," he added. "No one, we believe, was involved in gangs."

Boyce said the shooter may have thought the pair was affiliated with a rival crew.

"Right now, it's possibly a misidentified person," he said.

Levy was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital Thursday, police said.

The other teen was treated at Brookdale Hospital and released, the NYPD said.

There were no immediate arrests.
