NEW YORK CITY — There ain't no mountain — or borough — far enough to stop love for some single women in NYC.

Women who use OKCupid in New York City are significantly more likely than their male counterparts to message people who live farther away, according to data provided by the dating service.

The demographic group most likely to go the distance for love were bisexual women between the ages of 35 and 39, who messaged men with a median distance away of 33 miles — approximately the equivalent of Danbury, Connecticut — according to numbers from OKCupid showing data from October, November and December of 2016.

Compare that to straight men between 25 and 29, whose median distance from their would-be dates was just 8.87 miles — or straight women ages 30 to 34, who were only willing to travel 12.26 miles for a beau. Bisexual men of the same age group were willing to go 11.9 miles for love, while straight men of the same age group messaged with people an average of 10.45 miles away, according to the anonymized data.

The 10010 zip code, which cuts a narrow swathe from the East River to Sixth Avenue between 20th and 27th streets, has some of the most active OKCupid users in the city, as well as some of the most choosy.

Bisexual women between the ages of 30 and 34 in the 10010 zip code sent an average of 309 messages during the three-month time span provided, but replied to just 2.5 percent of messages they received.

That’s an average of nearly 300 more messages sent and received by bisexual women between the ages of 25 to 29 years old in the same area — who sent just 27 messages on average, and responded to 12.47 percent of messages they received.
