HARLEM — A shoplifting suspect who escaped police custody while handcuffed Saturday was arrested at his home Monday, police sources said.

Xavier Rivers, 21, was nabbed inside the Taft Houses on East 112th Street and Fifth Avenue, sources said. He had not been charged as of Tuesday morning.

One of the arresting officers has been suspended, law-enforcement sources said.

Rivers was initially arrested Saturday on East 102nd Street near Madison Avenue around 12:30 p.m. for shoplifting inside a Duane Reade, sources said.

But when he was being placed inside a police car, he took off running, the NYPD said.

He was wearing all green at the time of the incident, police said.
