Pair Smashes Beer Bottle Into Man's Face During Corona Attack, Police Say

By Katie Honan | February 14, 2017 10:23am

CORONA — A man had a beer bottle smashed into his face in an early morning attack, police said.

Two men approached the 34-year-old victim on Jan. 15 around 2:30 a.m. in front of a home near 108th Street and 38th Avenue, officials said.

One of the suspects knocked the man to the ground and both punched and kicked him in the face. He was then hit with the bottle, police said.

Both suspects, who were last seen wearing dark clothing, fled.

It's unknown why police took nearly a month to release details.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical but stable condition for multiple fractures in his face, police said.

Police are also looking for a group of men who have robbed 19 people over six weeks, mostly in Corona, although officials said the attacks are not believed to be related.
