Guns, Drugs and Bullets Seized from Two Lefferts-Gardens Homes in NYPD Raid

PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS — Six people were arrested after police found stashes of guns, ammunition and drugs in two homes searched as part of an investigation, sources said Thursday.

Police found 11 guns in total in the two houses raided in the early morning hours of Feb. 1. The first stash was found at a Maple Street home between Rogers and Nostrand avenues, where officers recovered seven handguns, two sawed-off shotguns, three glass jars of marijuana and a variety of ammunition, sources said.

Earzel Riddick, 28; Gilbert Johnson, 22; Dominique Workman, 26; and Monique Workman, 50, face multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon, among other charges, court records show. All but Johnson live in the raided home, the documents show.

As the Maple Street home was being searched, police also executed a search warrant at a second location on Brooklyn and Lefferts avenues. There, police watched as two men, Uriel Bryant, 35, and Brandon Ryals, 25, tried to dump bags of guns and ammunition from a bedroom window, prosecutors said.

Inside a black bag dropped on the ground, police found nearly 100 rounds of ammunition and a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun, court records show. Nearby, police found a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson gun sitting between an alley and the sidewalk near the building. Police found marijuana inside the apartment.

Johnson, Dominique Workman and Monique Workman have all been released on $750 bail, court records show. Their legal representatives, all public defenders, could not be reached for comment Thursday.

Riddick was released from custody Wednesday on $15,000 bail, court and correction records show. It is unclear who is legally representing him in the case.

Bryant was also released Wednesday on bail paid, though it’s unclear from records what was posted for his release. It’s unknown who is representing him in the case. Ryals is still in custody on $1,000 bail, records show, and his public defender could not be reached for comment.

The defendant are due back in court Aug. 25, according to court records.
