CORONA — The MTA is still investigating the cause of two 7 train derailments this weekend at the Mets-Willets Point station, according to an official.

On Saturday, service was disrupted after the last two wheels of the last cars of a Flushing-bound 7 train went off the track, officials said. It happened again on another Flushing-bound train on Sunday evening at around 9:30 p.m..

Crews have removed a new section of track that had recently been installed during repair work and are sending it back to the manufacturer to be evaluated, an MTA spokesman said.

Trains will also travel over that stretch of track at a slower speed "until further notice," he said.

No one was injured during the derailments, but it caused delays in either direction.

The station is scheduled to receive a $48 million renovation beginning in 2018.
