BROOKLYN — The gun-toting driver of a gold car threatened to shoot a man after asking why he was helping Jewish people cross the street in East Flatbush, NYPD officials said.

The driver, whose Cadillac Escalade can be seen in a police photo released Wednesday, stopped in the crosswalk near Lefferts and Brooklyn avenues as a 55-year-old man was helping people from the nearby Beth Rivkah Elementary School cross the street about 3:40 p.m. Monday, police said.

The man asked the driver to move his SUV because he was blocking the crosswalk.

"Why are you helping the Jewish woman? I'm going to shoot you both," the driver responded as he pulled back his jacket to show a gun tucked into his waistband, police said.

The suspect, who was described as in his 40s, hadn't been arrested as of Wednesday morning, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
