Police Search for Mugging Suspects Clad in Matching Red Pants

CROWN HEIGHTS — Two men wearing matching red pants are wanted by police for trying to rob a man at gunpoint in Crown Heights, NYPD officials said.

Police say the 21-year-old victim was standing at the corner of St. Johns Place and Ralph Avenue around 10:20 p.m. on Jan. 19 when the pair came up to him with a gun, demanded cash and searched his pockets.

The victim then pushed the two men away and ran into a nearby building, police said. The suspect walked away empty-handed and no one was injured during the attempted robbery.

The police department released surveillance footage of the two suspects from inside a nearby deli around the time of the incident. In the video, the two men are seen walking into the store wearing dark jackets and nearly identical red pants. Both are described as being between 25 and 30 years old, police said.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS or for Spanish (888) 57-PISTA (74782).
