CHARLESTON — Four teens were arrested after they broke into a private lot and stole an ATV from inside, prosecutors said.

A 19-year-old drove his 17-year-old relative and two others to the fenced-in lot at 344 Sharrotts Road on Jan. 14 at about 5:32 p.m., according to their criminal complaint.

The 17-year-old and his two friends then broke into the lot and stole a 2010 Yamaha ATV from inside, the court papers say.

"I went to the quad and ran it down the block," one suspect said, according to court papers.

Police arrested the group shortly afterwards and charged the 19-year-old and 17-year-old with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, petit larceny and criminal trespass at their Sunday arraignment, the Staten Island District Attorney's office said.

They were released without bail, according to court records.

The other two were charged as juveniles, a spokesman for the DA said.
