MANHATTAN — A 28-year-old woman suffered a fatal heart attack while in police custody at Manhattan Criminal Court Friday morning, according to NYPD and fire officials.
Sabrina Ippolito was found unconscious inside 100 Centre St. at about 11:42 a.m. and rushed to Lower Manhattan Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The medical examiner will determine her official cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.
Ippolito was awaiting arraignment on misdemeanor drug charges, police sources said.
