BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Whip up some Thai flavors in your kitchen with a new meal-kit delivery service launching in Brooklyn.

Thai Direct, a company offering ready-to-cook ingredients and recipes, will start serving Bedford-Stuyvesant, Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick this January, according to owner Lita Wall.

Similar to meal-kit services like Blue Apron or Plated, Thai Direct brings pre-prepped items to customers’ doorsteps.

“It’s so difficult to find Thai ingredients to cook authentic meals,” Wall, 40, said, referring to items like kaffir lime leaves and galangal, or Thai ginger.

“We hope people can enjoy Thai food in a different way and enjoy the experience of cooking ethnic cuisine as well. It can make them more curious about what it actually is.”

Wall, who came to the United States from Thailand in 2002, incorporated many of her family recipes in the service, along with those from a Thai chef, she said.

“We make each sauce and curry paste,” Wall explained, adding that the meal kits allow customers to control each dish’s spice-level.

Thai Direct’s 20-minute recipes are gluten-free and include dishes like Gaeng Keow Wan Gai (chicken green curry) and Nam Tok Nuo (spicy beef salad). Subscriptions start at $19.99.

After the north Brooklyn launch, Wall said she hopes to expand the company throughout the city and plans on offering her own line of spices and sauces.
