CROWN HEIGHTS — A 25-year-old man was shot in the stomach and right arm in front of an apartment building on St. John's Place, police said.

The victim was outside 1280 St. John's Place, near Troy Avenue, around 3:15 p.m. on Monday when he was shot by an unknown suspect, who then fled east toward Schenectady Avenue, according to the NYPD.

On Tuesday police released video of a man wanted in connection with the crime.

The NYPD originally said the victim was shot twice in the stomach, but on Tuesday said he was shot in the torso and right arm.

He was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition as of Tuesday morning, the NYPD said.

Police are now searching for a heavy-built, approximately 265-pound man standing at 5 feet, 8 inches tall, who can be seen on surveillance tape running away from the scene of the incident carrying what appears to be a firearm.

The man was last seen wearing a black mask, a dark blue bubble jacket, a green baseball hat and black pants, police said.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
