PROSPECT-LEFFERTS GARDENS — Police are looking for a suspect who broke into a Nostrand Avenue apartment and made off with a jug full of quarters worth $500.

The break-in happened at 1283 Nostrand Ave. near Clarkson Avenue on Dec. 14, police said. The tenant in the apartment told police he came home around 3 p.m. that day to find his kitchen window forced open from the fire escape and the coin-filled water jug gone.

At the time of the burglary, the apartment’s front door had been locked, police said. The jug filled with quarters is estimated to be worth about $500.

No suspect has been identified in the break-in, police said.
