MANHATTAN — A thief forced a worker at a Kips Bay acupuncture studio to strip and punched her in the face before fleeing with $500 on Wednesday, NYPD officials said.

The robber, who can be seen in police video released Thursday, demanded money and punched the 40-year-old woman inside Green Tea Acupuncture Wellness P.C. at 240 E. 28th St., near Second Avenue, about 12:50 p.m., police said.

He then forced her to strip before taking the cash and fleeing the shop, police said.

The woman was treated at an area hospital and released, police said.

The suspect, who has "blotchy skin," stands at about 6 feet tall and weighs about 220 pounds, police said.

He was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket, blue jeans, black sneakers and a multi-colored backpack, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
