BROOKLYN — The NYPD is teaming up with a Vendy-winning food truck to give out hot meals to residents of East New York public housing who are suffering a gas outage during the holiday.

Drive Change, which runs the Snowday food truck, will park outside of the buildings at 280/290 Stone Ave. Tuesday starting at 6 pm. to give away hot meals to 250 NYCHA residents including grilled cheese with maple syrup, an NYPD spokesman said.

Meal vouchers were distributed for the event Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Golden Age Center at 1580 East New York Ave.

Drive Change works with formally incarcerated youth to help them attain job experience and educational opportunities.

Their food truck specializes in maple syrup-flavored foods.

Residents who did not receive a voucher can inquire with the tenant's association at (347) 425-8858.
