MANHATTAN — A cyclist was fatally struck by a cement truck driver making a turn in Hell's Kitchen Thursday morning, NYPD officials said.

The cyclist, a 65-year-old woman whose name wasn't immediately released, was struck by the driver as he made a right turn from West 55th Street to head north on 12th Avenue about 6:45 a.m., police said.

The cyclist had been riding on the sidewalk before entering the intersection, officials said, but it wasn't immediately clear if she was hit in the crosswalk.

The victim suffered head and body injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The truck's driver, a 56-year-old man, remained on the scene and wasn't immediately charged or ticketed, police said.

An investigation is ongoing.
