THE BRONX — A man was fatally shot in the head Tuesday during a fight over rent money in his Longwood apartment, NYPD officials said.

Anthony Sainphor, 26, was shot in his sixth-floor apartment at 1018 E. 163rd St., near Southern Boulevard by another man about 8:50 p.m., police said.

Sainphor was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the NYPD.

Matthew Peoples, 63, was taken into custody at the scene and later charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Peoples suffered a slash to his arm and was treated at an area hospital before being charged, authorities said.

The two men knew each other through their girlfriends, and Peoples has no prior arrests, police said.
