BATTERY PARK CITY — A free holiday ice dance performance — with Olympians at the helm — is on its way to Brookfield Place.

Olympic ice-dancing couple Melissa Gregory and Dennis Petkhov, who competed in the 2006 Winter Olympics, are set to skate, twirl and glide across Brookfield Place's 105-by-70-foot outdoor rink in a gratis performance called "Magic of Beauty" on Dec. 18 at 6 p.m.

The skating couple will also be joined by U.S. National Champions including Max Aaron, Alexa Scimeca, Chris Knierim, Kristen Fraser and Igor Lukanin.

After the show, for a cost of $30, spectators are welcome to come on the ice and skate with dance show performers, including Gregory and Petkhov.

For the second year in a row, Gregory and Petkhov are also offering skate lessons at The Rink, along with other coaches.

To register for the after-performance skate and for more information about The Rink head here.

The Rink, at 230 Vesey St., is open Monday through Friday from 1 to 8:30 p.m. and on weekends from 10:15 a.m. to 10 p.m. Single skate sessions are $15 for 90 minutes, plus $5 skate rental if needed. Family and season passes are also available.
