Wait for it, wait for it, wait...

Until Friday, when Lin-Manuel Miranda's long-anticipated "Hamilton Mixtape" album officially drops.

A project that began coalescing even before the blockbuster Broadway hit opened at the Public Theater in 2015, the Atlantic Records album features fresh musical takes on "Hamilton" songs and lines by the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Nas and Alicia Keys. (We're talking about remixes, covers and entirely new songs here.)

Miranda has released a number of tracks on Spotify over the last few weeks, so fans have already been pumping Usher's sensual re-interpretation of "Wait For It" and John Legend's soulful re-working of "History Has Its Eyes on You” " through their earbuds at the office and on the subway.

You can pre-order your copy on Amazon, and Thursday at 1 p.m. you can also live-stream an "unprecedented #Ham4Ham" performance honoring the record's release and showcasing some of the record's pop, rap and R&B artists at the Richard Rodgers Theater in Midtown, as the Tony Award-winning musical's official Twitter account announced Wednesday.
