LOWER EAST SIDE — A swastika was discovered on the outside of a preschool building on Grand Street on Nov. 16, according to authorities.
A swastika was drawn in marker onto the sunflower mural on the wall of the Victoria Children's Group building at 323 Grand St., said police, who were alerted to the presence of the symbol by a tweet dated Nov. 16 from Roey Ahram, a director at NYU's Center for Research and Evaluation.

Police met with school administrators the following day, according to authorities, and a formal report was filed on Nov. 17 at 8:10 a.m.

It is estimated the swastika was drawn sometime between Nov. 11 and Nov. 15, according to a police report. It has since been painted over.
Preschool administrators were not immediately available for comment.
