BROOKLYN — Forget the selfie and take an "elfie."

For Small Business Saturday, Santa’s elves will be popping up along Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights from noon to 2 p.m. to take selfies with anyone who donates new socks, hats or gloves to students attending schools in District 13.

The elves will post up along Montague Street, on the corners of Henry and Clinton streets, collecting the donations for students in the school district covering Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Downtown Brooklyn, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and Bedford-Stuyvesant.

“Here in District 13, we are a diverse community of families,” said district family leadership coordinator Precious Jones-Walker in a statement. “New hats, gloves and socks will go a long way toward keeping our less fortunate families warm this winter.”

Shoppers will be encouraged to share their "elfies" on social media using #MontagueElfies.

Local businesses will also be offering special discounts, complimentary holiday treats and free gifts throughout the day.

“The holidays are a time of thanks, giving and celebration,” said Kate Chura, executive director of the Montague Street BID in a statement. “We hope all New Yorkers will support their communities, keep it local and shop, experience and taste along Montague Street.”
