MIDTOWN — A 5-year-old girl was abandoned by her father in the Port Authority Bus Terminal Monday morning after he was sought by police in Stamford, Connecticut, for the murder of his wife, according to the Port Authority and police sources.

A Port Authority police officer saw the girl alone on the second-floor concourse at about 10 a.m., NBC New York first reported

Authorities were looking for the girl’s father after her mother was found killed in Stamford, sources added.

She was not injured and is in good physical condition, a Port Authority spokesman said.

The girl was still at the terminal Monday evening and would likely be returned to Connecticut to a guardian or foster care, the spokesman added.
