CORONA — A man was shot in the leg Sunday evening in front of a Popeyes across the street from LeFrak City, police said.
The 22-year-old victim was walking on 57th Avenue, near 97th Street, at around 7:40 p.m. when a man approached him and displayed a gun.
He then shot the man in the right leg and fled, police said.
The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, and his condition is unknown.
The motive of the shooting isn't clear, police said.
