You could take home a playboy tabby like Adonis, a frisky orange-furred kitten like Smirk, or a bunny-eared belle like Scarletohare at the 7th annual "Whiskers in Wonderland" event in Manhattan this Sunday.
Local shelters and rescue groups will present nearly 200 cats, kittens and rabbits for adoption Sunday at Petco's 1280 Lexington Ave. location, between 86th and 87th streets, from noon to 5 p.m.
You may have to pay an adoption fee that varies by group, but the event — organized by the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals in partnership with the Petco Foundation — offers some freebies, too: face painting and temporary tattoos for kids, pet products and photos of you and your new furry roommate.
All animals looking for homes this weekend have been vaccinated and spayed or neutered.
