CORONA — An NYPD traffic agent harassed his wife, calling multiple times a day when she was at work to beg her to take out a life insurance policy, officials said.
Jose Hernandez, 59, called his wife up to 20 times a day over the course of many weeks, police said.
When she wouldn't answer his calls or texts, he once showed up to her job in his NYPD traffic agent uniform, according to police.
Hernandez was trying to force his wife into taking a life insurance policy in her name, and also co-sign for a car loan, his wife told police.
He was arrested Tuesday morning within the 110th Precinct, which covers parts of Corona and Elmhurst, and charged with aggravated harassment.
It's not clear how long he's worked with the NYPD.
