ST. GEORGE — Video showing a man setting fire to two NYPD patrol cars in front of Staten Island's 120th Precinct has been released.

A witness told police at the station, at 78 Richmond Terrace, that flames were coming from a car outside at 4:45 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

Officers ran outside and doused the fire, which caused minor damage to one car, police said.

Surveillance cameras caught a man intentionally setting two of the cars on fire and running away northbound on Richmond Terrace then westbound on Hamilton Avenue, police said.

While the suspect — last seen wearing a dark sweater and pants — set two fires, police said only one cause damage.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
