MANHATTAN — Reports of a track fire at the 14th Street-Union Square Station caused delays to 4, 5, and 6 trains during rush hour Thursday evening, according to the MTA and FDNY.
Firefighters responded to reports of smoke in the station and on the tracks near the Union Square station at around 5:20 p.m. Thursday, said an FDNY spokesman.
No injuries have been reported, the FDNY said.
The MTA previously announced that 4 and 5 trains would run local from Grand Central-42nd Street to Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall in both directions and that some southbound 5 trains would run on the 2 line between 149th Street-Grand Concourse in The Bronx to Nevins Street in Brooklyn.
By 6:15 p.m., the website said service on the 4, 5 and 6 had resumed with delays.
