Racial Slur Scrawled on Jackson Heights Door in Possible Hate Crime: NYPD

By Katie Honan | November 3, 2016 3:39pm

JACKSON HEIGHTS — The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating after a woman's apartment door was vandalized three times over the last two weeks — including a recent incident in which she discovered someone had written the "N-word" across it.

The victim, Dolly Ragoo, told the New York Daily News she came home from her job at the Taxi & Limousine Commission on Monday to find tomato sauce splattered across her door, along with the racial slur.

Ragoo, who is Indian, said she was scared, thinking at first it looked like blood.

“This called me n----- because I’m from Indian descent," she told the paper. "They sprayed red sauce all over my door."

It's the third time since Oct. 25 she's had her door defaced, police confirmed.

In the first two incidents, on Oct. 25 and Nov. 1, she found toilet paper and feces spread across her door.

The incidents are all being investigated as possible hate crimes, police said.

Ragoo could not be reached for comment by DNAinfo New York.
