Watch the Silver Surfer Glide Through the West Village for Halloween

You thought your Halloween costume was cool? Nice try.

Turns out the person who won Halloween was a man who dressed up as Marvel's superhero Silver Surfer and then surfed his way around Manhattan.

A video posted to YouTube on Sunday, Oct. 30, shows the herald of Galactus rolling his way down Bleecker Street in the West Village and along the water in Downtown Manhattan.

The video shows crowds stopping to take photos and video of the Silver Surfer — including one police officer behind the wheel of an NYPD van. One man walking across Bleecker Street at Seventh Avenue South had a very New York reaction: "Silver f--king surfer."

The account behind the video is PrankvsPrank, and links included in the YouTube post show Venice Beach-based Instagramer Jesse Wellens and the makeup artist responsible for his body paint, @madeyewlook.

In the Marvel Universe, Silver Surfer is a humanoid with metallic skin who travels through space on his surfboard-shaped craft that is faster than the speed of light.

The character, created by legendary comic book artist Jack Kirby, was last seen on the big screen in "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," although a movie called "The Silver Surfer" is listed as "in development" on IMDB.
