BROOKLYN — A person was found dead after a large fire tore through a vacant building in East New York Tuesday night, officials said.

The person, who remains unidentified, was discovered after about 138 firefighters brought the blaze at 420 Lincoln Road under control about 10:30 p.m., two hours after it began, NYPD and FDNY officials said.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause of death, police said.

It wasn't immediately clear why the victim was in the vacant building.

Fire marshals are still figuring out what sparked the large fire, officials said.
