WILLIAMSBURG — A  broken rail on the L line between the Bedford Avenue and First Avenue stations delayed trains in both directions between Brooklyn and Manhattan Tuesday afternoon, the MTA said.

Normal L train service resumed after crews made repairs but there were still delays, according to a 3:46 p.m. update on the MTA's website.

A report of the broken rail on the northbound track at 12:33 p.m. had caused some Eighth Avenue-bound trains to terminate at Bedford Avenue for more than two hours, as well as delays between 14th Street-Union Square and Bedford Avenue, according to MTA spokeswoman Marisa Baldeo and the agency's website.
