THE BRONX — Clams on City Island and sushi in the South Bronx are just a few dishes that Bronxites will get to feast on during the borough's upcoming restaurant week.

Savor The Bronx, the annual celebration of food in the borough, will run this year from Nov. 7 through Nov. 18 at more than 40 eateries throughout The Bronx, ranging from Charlie's Bar & Kitchen in Port Morris to Havana Café in Schuylerville to Emilia's Restaurant on Arthur Avenue.

Several eateries are offering prix fixe lunches for $16.39 and prix fixe dinners for $20.16, while others will take between 5 and 20 percent off of customers' final bills.

A full list of participating restaurants and the deals they are offering can be found here.

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. hosted a preview of the event on Tuesday at the Hutchinson Metro Center's Residence Inn and encouraged people from both inside and outside of the borough to come see what types of meals they can get in The Bronx.

“Epicureans from around the world are invited to experience the amazing tastes we have to offer in our borough,” he said in a statement. “The Bronx has always been home to a tremendous food culture, and ‘Savor the Bronx’ is a great way to sample the many different styles of food our world-class restaurant community has to offer.”

Diaz and the Bronx Tourism Council, which produces the event, also debuted a new "Savor The Bronx" video series highlighting local eateries made in partnership with BronxNet.

Olga Luz Tirado, executive director of the Bronx Tourism Council, said in a statement that the borough has lately been seeing a surge in visitors, and this is in large part due to its eateries.

“With so many great flavors to offer," she said, "we urge those seeking a fresh new culinary experience to celebrate ‘Savor the Bronx’ Restaurant Week with us.”
