QUEENS — An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with a gang-related incident last week in which a 16-year-old was shot in the face on a Jamaica street, police said Friday.

Jose Gonzalez, who lives four blocks away from where the shooting took place, was charged with attempted murder, gang assault, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the NYPD

Authorities said that Gonzalez and two other suspects, who police said they are still looking for, punched and kicked the victim numerous times last Sunday around 2 a.m. on 90th Avenue, between 179th Street and 179th Place, across the street from P.S. 95, officials said.

Then one of suspects, who remains at large, pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the face.

The teen was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where he was listed in serious but stable condition, officials said.

Investigators, who released Gonzalez's photo Monday, arrested him at his home Thursday morning, police said.

He has one prior arrest for criminal possession of a weapon from 2015.

Gonzalez had not been arraigned as of Friday afternoon, according to the Queens District Attorney's office.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
