EAST ELMHURST — Vice Presidential candidate Mike Pence's plane skidded off the runway at LaGuardia Airport Thursday evening, officials said.
The plane was carrying more than 30 other passengers and 11 crew members when it overshot a runway at around 7:30 p.m., according to the Port Authority.
No one was injured, and all incoming and departing flights were halted after for more than an hour, according to a Port Authority statement.
The plane had taken off earlier in the evening from Fort Dodge, Iowa, according to reports.
It was actually stalled on the tarmac due to earlier delays at LaGuardia, and Pence tossed a football around while waiting for takeoff, according to his Twitter page.

Pence, who was supposed to appear at a fundraiser for his and presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign, instead went to his hotel after the accident, according to reports.
Reporters embedded with the campaign on the flight reported that they smelled rubber after the plane finally stopped, and shared video immediately after the skid.

A plane skid off a snowy runway in March 2015, but investigators ruled it was pilot error last month.
Trump has called LaGuardia airport a "dump" and "third world" repeatedly, most recently at a September presidential debate.
A multibillion-dollar renovation is already underway at the airport.
