TIMES SQUARE — A man pretending to snap a selfie took a photo underneath a woman’s skirt as she sat on the TKTS staircase in Times Square, police and prosecutors said.

The 21-year-old victim, from Manhattan, was sitting on the red staircase around 8:20 p.m. on Oct. 19 when a police officer saw Eanreque Chmbo, 40, sitting on the stairs looking at her, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office said.

Chmbo walked in front of the woman, sat down two steps in front of her, took out his phone and snapped a selfie, the criminal complaint said.

The background of the photo captured the area underneath the woman’s skirt, and Chmbo was arrested and charged with unlawful surveillance, the DA’s office said.

He was released on his own recognizance two days later and is expected to next appear in court on Dec. 14, prosecutors said.

An attorney for Chmbo did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday.
