This bandit couldn't escape the fuzz.
The newest member of Special Operation's mounted unit is a fluffy white rabbit with black-ringed eyes and an outlaw's name: Bandit.
Thanks everyone for the great suggestions. The #Mounted Unit has gone w/ "Bandit" for their newest addition. Seen here with "Miss Demeanor" pic.twitter.com/YceVf7Ni0N

Police officers adopted the bunny after it hopped into the rink where the mounted unit trains its horses Friday.
The NYPD's Special Operations division tweeted photos of the renegade bunny and asked the public to submit suggestions for its new recruit's name.
Meet the #Mounted Unit's newest member who wandered onto the training rink yesterday in the Bronx. We need help naming him though. Thoughts? pic.twitter.com/OM5U2O0ONs

Our favorite proposals: NYPD Special Hops; Fuzz, as in "the fuzz"; Aaron Fur, in honor of Alexander Hamilton's nemesis Aaron Burr made famous by the Broadway smash hit; and Office Hopps, like the aspiring rabbit cop in the Disney animated flick "Zootopia."
"Bandit," an allusion to the cottontail's masked eyes, won the contest.
@NYPDSpecialops @NYPDONeill @RubyRabbitFoot @TheDailyBunny @CuteAnimalsBaby Bandit would be perfect with that black mask around the eyes.

Bandit is the second rabbit to join the NYPD's mounted unit. The first is named — wait for it — Miss Demeanor.
