The NYPD's top brass says there's nothing to fear from the creepy clown trend, but one Brooklyn precinct is counting on you being terrified of them.

The 78th Precinct's haunted house has devote an entire room to the creepy clown phenomenon this year, said commanding officer Deputy Inspector Frank DiGiacomo.

He and his officers have spent the past two months turning the precinct's already dungeon-like basement into a chamber of horrors complete with a guillotine, a zombie baby munching on brains and other heart-pounding sights.

Officers used their own time, elbow grease and buckets of glow-in-the-dark paint to create the haunted house during their off hours. The job is a work of passion for DiGiacomo, a self-professed fan of all things scary who likes to dress up for the occasion.

Kids of all ages are invited to attend the haunted house, which runs from Oct. 26 through Oct. 30, 3 to 9 p.m. There will be an upstairs area with free candy for smaller children. Braver kids and parents are invited to descend the stairs into the basement where officers in costume will do their best to give them some serious heebie-jeebies.

Last year marked the return of the precinct's haunted house after an absence of several years. It was such a big hit with locals that the precinct has added two more days to the schedule this year, DiGiacomo said.

"This year’s is much better than last year's," DiGiacomo said. “We actually have much scarier props.”

Visit the 78th Precinct's free haunted house at 65 Sixth Ave., 3 to 9 p.m., Oct. 26-30.
