MIDTOWN — Heavy rain is expected to drench New York through the early part of the weekend, forecasters said.

The city could see three-quarters of an inch of rain Friday, with more expected Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS has issued a flood advisory until 4 p.m. Friday for Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx.

The soggy weather will also bring cooler temperatures.

The Saturday high is expected to reach just 55 degrees, with Sunday and Monday peaking around 62 degrees, forecasters said.

The Department of Buildings is advising property owners and crane operators to take precautionary measures Saturday as wind gusts could reach 40 miles per hour.

The agency says that loose debris should be tied down at construction sites and also recommends that electrical outlets not be exposed.

Crane operations should be suspended when wind speeds top 30 miles per hour, according to the DOB.

Tuesday’s high is expected to be just 53 degrees, according to the NWS.

The wet weather and cooler temperatures are a stark contrast from earlier this week when the Tuesday and Wednesday highs topped 80 degrees.
