THE BRONX — A man randomly slashed another man across the cheek outside a Morrisania bodega Tuesday night, police said.

In a video released Thursday, the suspect can be seen slicing the left side of a 38-year-old man's face outside the shop at Melrose Avenue and East 161st Street about 8:30 p.m., NYPD officials said.

In police video, the suspect walks toward the victim and lunges toward his head with his arm fully extended before walking away.

The victim was listed in stable condition, an NYPD spokesman said. It wasn't clear if he was taken to the hospital.

The two hadn't exchanged any words prior to the attack, which police believe was random, the spokesman said.

The suspect, who is in his early 30s and about 5 feet 9 inches, fled west on East 161st Street, police said.

He was last seen wearing a black and white hoodie, black shorts and a black do-rag with black and red sneakers, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
