By  Paul DeBenedetto and Ben Fractenberg | October 16, 2016 1:17pm | Updated on October 17, 2016 1:34pm

QUEENS — A Long Island woman is facing 15 years in prison after she allegedly shot a Queens detective in the forehead with a pellet gun and was charged with attempted assault, according to officials.

Tiara Ferebee, 24, was in a car driving parallel to Detective Adam Jangel's unmarked vehicle when she fired the pellet gun into the car, striking the detective in the forehead about 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, prosecutors said.

Ferebee was in the back seat of a brown 2015 Nissan Altima traveling east on Jamaica Avenue near 168th Street, which sped away after the incident, according to police.

The detective was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Ferebee was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court Sunday evening on charges of attempted assault, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

She was held on $1 million bond and is due back in court on Oct. 31.

Ferebee's lawyer did not return an immediate request for comment.
