QUEENS — A plainclothes NYPD officer in an unmarked car was shot in the face with a pellet gun Wednesday, police said.
The officer was driving west on Jamaica Avenue near 168th Street around 5:10 p.m. when another driver in the eastbound lane shot him in the face, police said.
The officer was taken to Jamaica Hospital and is expected to survive, police said.
A description of the shooter was not immediately available and the investigation remains ongoing, according to police.
