HELL’S KITCHEN — Police have released surveillance footage of the man they say slashed a straphanger who confronted him because he was spouting off and stepping on his feet aboard an A train at Port Authority on Thursday.

The suspect was pacing around the subway car and mouthing off to riders aboard the Inwood-bound train about 3:10 p.m., the NYPD said Friday.

When one of the passengers confronted him, he pulled out a sharp object and slashed him across the chest, forehead, shoulder and arm, police said.

The victim was taken to Cornell Hospital.

The suspect is described as about 30 years old, about 6-foot-1 and 170-185 pounds. He has dreadlocks and was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, white sneakers and dark jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
