UPPER EAST SIDE — Police have released surveillance video of a knife-wielding clown who chased a teen off a 6 train last week.

A 16-year-old boy was riding a northbound 6 train at the 96th Street station around 2 p.m. on Oct. 5 when he saw the suspect — a man clad in a striped shirt, blue vest with pink buttons, and black fedora  — standing in the doorway holding a knife, police said.

The teenager jumped off the car, ran for the exit, and turned at the turnstile to see the suspect grasping the knife and following in fast pursuit, police said.

The boy fled the station and escaped unharmed, police said.

Surveillance cameras captured images and a video of the suspect entering the 96th Street station before the incident occurred.

Police are still investigating whether this incident is linked to another menacing clown with a knife spotted lurking outside the bedroom window of 16-year-old boy in East Elmhurst.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
