UberPool in Brooklyn Will Cost Less Than $8 Until 2017, Company Announces

UberPool rides in Brooklyn under 8 miles will cost less than $8 for the rest of the year, the ride-share company announced Tuesday.

The app will automatically register the discount when UberPool users log in their Brooklyn destination that is less than an 8-mile trip from their pick-up location, according to an Uber announcement.

Prices will remain the same for short UberPOOL rides that are less than $8 — for example, an UberPool ride from Greenpoint to Bushwick will cost $5, according to an Uber estimate.

There is also an extra dollar fee to travel with one guest, the announcement said.

This is not the first UberPool discount the company has offered this year. Uber announced commuters could pay for UberPool with pre-tax dollars in August.
