CROWN HEIGHTS — The 77th Precinct has a new leader.
After three years in Crown Heights, Deputy Inspector Eddie Lott is moving on to a new job at NYPD headquarters, the police department announced this week.
Lott officially left the top post at the 77th Precinct on Oct. 5 for a position in the police commissioner’s office in Manhattan, the NYPD said. He has been replaced by Capt. Isa Abbassi, who has been with the NYPD since 1997 and previously served as an executive officer with the department’s Domestic Violence Unit.
Abbassi was welcomed to the neighborhood by Lott, who told the new leader in a tweet sent Wednesday, “you're now entrusted to command the greatest cops and the greatest community in the city.”
