BROOKLYN — A student brought a BB gun to a Flatbush high school Wednesday morning, officials said.

Security guards at Erasmus Hall High School on Flatbush Avenue found the gun after the 15-year-old male student tried to bring it through a metal detector at about 8:45 a.m., according to the NYPD.

The gun was confiscated and no one was injured, a Department of Education spokeswoman added.

“Nothing is more important than the safety of all students and staff," said DOE spokeswoman Toya Holness in a statement. "The NYPD immediately responded and recovered a BB gun from a school in Brooklyn. Students and staff are safe, and we are providing the school with additional supports.”

The NYPD did not have any immediate information on whether the student would be charged.
